Harthalika Teej Festival- Teej Festival this year 2020 falls on August 21, 2020 mainly in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and in many other western and the Northern States in India. This festival considers as the festival of married women, also known as monsoon festival. It is celebrated to honor the union of Lord Shiva and wife Goddess Parvati. Married women do prayers for the blessing of Paravati. On the third day after the new moon and third, day after the full moon of every month refers to “Teej”.

Women do fast all day and night and next morning freshen up and get ready in fully traditional attire, especially Sari in Red Colour, and wear traditional ornaments to worship Goddess Parvati. Arrange swings on trees and enjoy the swing, this is actually an uplifting festival for married women. Married girls receive gifts from their in-laws and from their own mothers. Gifts consist of henna, bangles, clothes, flowers, ornaments, sweets, fruits, etc.
